OK, Time to talk Cassian.
Probably the most enjoyable producer coming out of our beautiful country right now. After laying down some amazing remixes for the likes of Damn Arm’s, Bag Raiders, and now Miami Horror. Creating a unique sound with Live Basslines, Clubby Breakdowns and Disco Synths, Cassian has got a little something for everybody’s taste buds.
Modest at the best of times, when asked to write a small blurb this is what we got :
“i’m 12 years old, from melbourne and have worked with madonna. have done some remixes for some peeps, and releasing a 12″ in september through bang gang.”

SIMPLE REALLY
Every week somebody new comes up and asks the question. “Why are you called 8 Bit Kidz?” There is only really one answer to give, and it goes a little something like this… The first electronic music was made on 8 Bit Systems. This inspires us. Sure enough the sound wasn’t incredible, but it was a start and it has definitely led us to the music we are hearing today. I recently stumbled across this entire cover album of one of the most sucessful electronica acts of all time. Daft Punk. This cover album is presented in pure 8 Bit sound. Made on old gaming systems.
This isn’t really the sort of music you enjoy unless you understand the effort that went into this. So I only recommend that Daft Punk Lovers, Daft Punk Geeks, Gaming Geeks, Music Geeks, or Music Lovers download.

On a more well known tip, I can’t stop listening to Crystal Castles and with that can’t stop getting excited about ParkLife. This is 8 Bit Music at it’s best, and most unique.

Although only in 128kbps. This tune is going to make it into your top 25 of all time. The most beautiful synth disco I have heard in a long long while. This comes close to Fred Falke’s remix of Golden Cage, and that’s definitely saying something. Unfortunately not playable in this quality but you will find yourself listening to this track on repeat for hours on end. Beautiful.
Daft Punk – One More Time (Bass Weazal “One More Tune” Remix) 320kbps
A real party tune, Bass Weazal have made a remix/edit of Daft Punk’s legendary One More Time. This cut has a really bouncy party vibe about it with choppy slices from the original over a more modern dancefloor structure. Definitely playable. Definitely good.
Phoenix – Rome (Def Starr Runaway To Rome Bootleg) 320kbps
Using Calling In Sick’s remix of Grum – Runaway, Def Starr have pulled together this blissful edit of Phoenix – Rome. Making it the only playable edit of the track thus far. Enough of a buildup to play to a dancefloor and chilled enough to jam to at home.

I could definitely say I’m not the only one sick of winter by now, the rain, the fashion, the sultry moods. However there is always good music floating around in Australian winter due to the rest of the world enjoying the sun. A remix from until now an unheard of Photomachine, recieved this in the email today and just had to get it up. Massive summery vibe about it almost sounding Major Lazoresque. Tribal drums, Sawtooth Basslines, Santigold Vocals. If your into ghetto, this is a gem just for you.
La Roux – Tigerlily (B.Rich Dubstep Remix)
Taking a step away from his usual heavy bass antics and drops a huge dubstep remix for the ever so popular La Roux. It seems no remix hits the spot unless it’s 140bpm wobbly dubstep. This remix is absolutely massive, the first drop proves this cat is serious about making dub tunes. Definitely hope to hear more from Mr Rich!
Delegation – You & I (Dolby Anol Edit)
Dolby Anol seem to have the midas touch with whatever style they tries to touch base on, from fidgety edits of Kings of Leon to the straight up weird edits of Babylon Zoo – Spaceman. However, the two edits you are blessed with today are disco house goodness. Suprising to feel such a raw vibe from them but I love every bit of it. As will you I’m sure. This track is perfect for drinking too, dancing too, bopping too. Let’s face it. It’s perfect.
Vivien Vee – Alright (Dolby Anol Edit)
A little less disco then the above, however still on that tip. A very good edit of the old Vivien Vee track, Alright. Would go down well in the right crowd and once again is definitely a mover, a shaker, a drinker and a bopper. Get on it!
